Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight in downtown Indianapolis between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pacers took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven championship series after winning on Wednesday night at home, 116-107. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM this evening.

 

The United Way of Posey County and The Posey County Council on Aging is teaming up to bring Meals on the Move to Posey County. A press release says the program will be a home delivery service for seniors living independently. $91,721 in grants has been secured to start the program and the plan is for it to begin in July of this year. A $45,020 grant from The Posey County Community Foundation was also given. Coming up this weekend in New Harmony is the 23rd Annual New Harmony Antique Show. It will take place tomorrow and Sunday and there will be antique vendors, live music, and local markets. The community is encouraged to explore the historic streets, enjoy great food and shopping, and soak up the summer vibes this Saturday and Sunday.

 

Posey County Royalty Pageants posted on Facebook that registration is now open for the Beautiful Baby contest. It will be open through Wednesday, July 2nd. The Beautiful Baby contest is open to Posey County children that are newborn through 36 months. There is a link to register on the Posey County Royalty Pageants Facebook page.

 

Tomorrow across the State of Indiana is the High School Baseball Semi-State, and the tri-state area has a handful of teams still alive. In Class 4A…Evansville North will play North Central at 10:00 AM at Mooresville High School. In Class 3A…Jasper will take on Greensburg at 1:00 PM at Jasper High School. For Class 2A…Evansville Mater Dei will face Shenandoah at 1:00 PM at the University of Evansville. For Class 1A…Northeast Dubois will face Shakamak at 12:00 PM at Mitchell High School. All of these are two game Semi-States, so if any of the tri-state teams win their first game, they will play in the Semi-State Championship Saturday night.

 

In High School Softball this weekend, it’s the IHSAA State Finals in West Lafayette at Purdue University. The Tecumseh Braves are in the State Finals for a 4th-straight season. Tecumseh Softball plays Andrean in the Class 2A State Championship game tomorrow at 3:30 PM.

 

From Major League Baseball on Thursday…the St. Louis Cardinals lost the opening game of a 4-game series in Milwaukee to the Brewers, 6-0. The Cardinals losing streak has reached 5-straight games and their overall record is now 36-33. The series continues this evening with game 2 of the 4-game set in Milwaukee at 7:10 PM.

The Chicago Cubs were victorious in their series opener at home over the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-2. The Cubs record improves to 42-27. Chicago and Pittsburgh continue their 4-game series in the Windy City today at 1:20 PM.

The Cincinnati Reds were off last night and will start a 3-game set in Detroit tonight vs the Tigers at 6:10 PM. The Reds had their 5-game winning streak end on Wednesday with a loss in Cleveland. Cincinnati sits at 35-34 on the season.
