Week 5 of the High School Football season is tonight. The Mt. Vernon Wildcats play at the Princeton Tigers at 7:00 PM. Mt. Vernon is 3-1 and Princeton is 2-2. Chris Cooke and Allen Buck have the radio call on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com.
The North Posey Vikings travel to the Pike Central Chargers this evening at 6:30 PM. North Posey is 3-1 on the season and Pike Central is 0-4. Jordan Fisher and Chris Morlan will broadcast the game on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com.

In a press release, Evansville West Side Nut Club officials have announced for the first time ever that they are offering a Half Pot Early Bird Special, offering participants an additional opportunity to win. Officials say from October 1st until October 6th, those who purchase Half Pot tickets will be entered for a chance to win a Polaris UTV. They say this special drawing is a bonus, and all Early Bird participants still retain their chance to win the main prize in the Half Pot Drawing. Along with the early bird special, for the main Half pot drawing, tickets can be purchased online and in person between October 1st and October 11th. Online tickets for both the Early Bird Special and the main Half Pot drawing must be purchased in Indiana, and purchasers must be 18 or older. They say online purchases require a debit card.
Last night in local high school sports…North Posey Volleyball won at home vs South Spencer to improve to 12-2 on the year.
North Posey Girls Soccer got beat by Southridge at home, 6-1. The Vikings record is 1-10.
North Posey Boys Tennis defeated Forest Park on the road, 3-2. They improve to 12-2 on the season and 8-2 in the PAC.
Mt. Vernon Volleyball lost at Princeton in 5-sets. The Wildcats are 5-11 on the season.
Mt. Vernon Girls Soccer fell at home to Pike Central, 3-1. The Wildcats are 8-5 overall.
Last night in local college sports…USI Volleyball earned a 4-set win at Evansville. The Screaming Eagles improve to 3-8 and the Purple Aces slide to 4-7.
In Major League Baseball on Thursday …the St. Louis Cardinals had the day off. They start a 3-game series at home vs the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at 6:45 PM. The Cardinals have 9 games left and have a record of 74-79.
The Chicago Cubs lost 1-0 in the opener of a 4-game set at the Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs 4-game winning streak ended as they now sit at 88-65. The Reds improve to 77-76 and remain 2 games behind the New York Mets for the last playoff spot in the National League. Game 2 of the series is this evening at 5:40 PM.
