Indianapolis Colts Quarterback, Daniel Jones is coming to Poseyville this summer to host a Youth Football Camp. Flexwork Sports announced that the camp takes place on Thursday, July 9th from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM at North Posey High School. The camp is for ages 6-16. You can sign up for the camp now. The University of Southern Indiana is inviting the campus and community to take a trip around the world, without leaving Evansville. USI’s International Club and Center for International Programs will host the annual International Food Expo tomorrow from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. It takes place in Carter Hall, which is located in University Center West on the USI campus. According to the university, the event gives international students a chance to share their home countries’ cultures, customs, and cuisines. Attendees can sample a variety of main dishes and desserts from around the globe, along with live entertainment. The Expo will also feature cultural dances, musical performances, and a fashion show showcasing traditional attire. Tickets are available online through the International Food Expo website. Prices are 10 dollars for USI students and 15 dollars for faculty, staff, and community members. Tickets can also be purchased with cash or Munch Money at Eagle Bistro or the Eagle Access Card Office in University Center West. A limited number will be sold on the day of the event.

 

Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari is gearing up for its 80th season and looking to hire about 2,000 team members. According to a community announcement, applications are now open online at the Holiday World website. The park will host an in-person job fair on February 28th, with phone interviews scheduled for March 7th and March 28th. President and CEO Matt Eckert says the hiring process is expected to move quickly, as demand for jobs at the park has been high in recent years. Seasonal employees will receive several perks, including a personal season pass, discounts on food and merchandise, employee parties with exclusive ride time, and free admission to other area attractions. Team members will also receive two free uniforms and can take part in an employee transportation program for a small fee. Starting pay is 13 dollars per hour for workers 16 and older, as well as for lifeguards 15 and older. Holiday World is hiring across more than 30 departments, including food and beverage, ride operations, cleaning crews, and specialty roles like EMTs and grounds maintenance. Applicants must be at least 14 years old, although most positions require workers to be 16 or older. Adults looking for seasonal work, including retirees and teachers, are encouraged to apply. Limited team member housing is available for applicants 18 and older who live at least 50 miles from the park. Tonight, in local college sports, USI Women’s and Men’s Basketball have a home game vs Tennessee State. The women’s game starts at 5:00 PM and the Screaming Eagles are 16-7 overall and 10-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The men’s game begins at 8:00 PM as USI tries to stop a 4-game losing streak. They are 5-19 on the season and 2-12 in the OVC.

Evansville Men’s Basketball is on the road in Carbondale this evening to take on the SIU Salukis at 7:00 PM. The Purple Aces are searching for back-to-back conference wins after they beat Illinois State at home on Monday. UE is 6-19 on the year and 2-12 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

 

From the NBA last night, the Indiana Pacers won their final game before the All-Star Break as they earned a win in Brooklyn against the Nets, 115-110. Jarace Walker led Indiana in scoring with 23 points and Micah Potter had a double-double off of the bench with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Pacers have won back-to-back games and are 15-40 on the season.
