An Illinois man is behind bars after police say he was caught drunk driving at nearly double the speed limit in a school zone. It happened Tuesday afternoon near Marrs Elementary School in Mt. Vernon. Deputies say they clocked a truck going 79 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on State Road 62. The driver, identified as 70-year-old Mark J. Dolan, was pulled over after the truck swerved in its lane. A breath test showed his blood alcohol content was point-one-nine-two, more than twice the legal limit. Dolan was arrested and is now facing several charges, including operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and speeding in a school zone. Prosecutors say if convicted, he could spend up to a year in jail and face a $1,000 fine.
