A Sebree, Kentucky man has been arrested on drug-related charges in Posey County. On Sunday, officials say they arrested 66-year-old Benjamin Ballard. According to an affidavit, Ballard was pulled over for multiple traffic violations including speeding. The Posey County Sheriff’s Office says Ballard and his passenger seemed nervous during the stop. When asked if they could search the vehicle, Ballard consented. Officers on scene say they found more than 60 grams of meth in the center console of the vehicle. A release shows Ballard claimed the meth was his. Ballard was then arrested and taken to the Posey County Jail. He is facing charges of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. Officials say Ballard is set to appear in court for an initial hearing on Monday at 1:30 PM. If he is convicted as charged, Ballard faces 10 to 30 years in prison plus a fine up to $10,000.
