Today, the Posey County Health Department is providing another Free Community Clinic. These take place every first and third Tuesday of each month from 1:00-5:00 PM. The location of this clinic is at the MSD of North Posey’s Ascension Tristate Clinic at 4922 HWY 165 in Poseyville. Services offered include immunizations, vital sign checks, glucose monitoring, they provide lice treatment kits, pregnancy resources, and various other testing like lead and STD testing.
Posey County Health Department also says that today there will be a Mobile Food Distribution event at the North Posey Youth Community Park. It will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Drivers should turn off Pine Street and onto Jerry Wilder Way. There is a limit of two households per car. The event is sponsored by Tri-State Food Bank and the Lilly Endowment.
North Posey Athletics is having their Athletic Physicals this Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM at North Posey High School. The cost is 10 dollars. The physicals are for all incoming 7th-12th grade students planning on participating in athletics at North Posey for the 2025-2026 school year.
Mt. Vernon High School is having a Movie Night this Friday from 6:45 PM-9:00 PM. For entry into the Movie Night, they are asking for a donation of hygiene products benefiting Family Matters of Posey County. The Movie Night this Friday will be held at the Mt. Vernon High School Football Field.
Tonight, in local high school sports…North Posey Baseball plays at Mt. Vernon at 5:00 PM.
North Posey Softball travels to Mt. Carmel at 5:00 PM.
Mt. Vernon Softball is at home as they play Heritage Hills at 5:30 PM.
This evening in the NBA Playoffs…the Indiana Pacers play Game 2 of their Second Round Series in Cleveland against the Cavaliers at 6:00 PM. The Pacers lead the best-of-seven series, 1-0 after they beat the Cavs on Sunday, 121-112.
From Major League Baseball on Monday…the St. Louis Cardinals won the opening game of their 3-game series at home with the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-3. The Cardinals have won 3-straight games and now sit at 17-19 overall. Game 2 of the series is tonight in St. Louis at 6:45 PM.
The Chicago Cubs took the opener of their 3-game set in Chicago against the San Francisco Giants, 9-2. The Cubs improve to 22-14. Their series continues this evening at 6:40 PM.
The Cincinnati Reds lost their 3rd-straight game as they got shutout in Atlanta by the Braves, 4-0. The Reds fall to 18-18 on the season. Cincy plays game 2 of their 4-game set in Atlanta tonight at 6:15 PM.
