News:

Mount Vernon Police say a traffic stop led to a drug arrest. The driver was Misty Cunningham, and she was traveling 21 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and did not have a valid driver’s license. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers say they found five small bags containing suspected methamphetamine that also tested positive for fentanyl. The total weight was just over 12 grams. Police also found a glass smoking pipe and prescription pills that did not belong to Cunningham. She was arrested and booked into the Posey County Jail.

As a reminder, CenterPoint Energy's series of community meetings began last week. The local Posey County meeting is tomorrow at Mount Vernon Junior High from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Officials say customers will be able learn about financial assistance programs and resources as well as actions taken to prioritize customer affordability.
