Two people are in custody after a high-speed police chase that spanned nearly 90 miles across southern Indiana on Tuesday morning. According to the Indiana State Police, the pursuit began just before 10:00 AM on Interstate 69 near Bloomington in Monroe County. Troopers attempted to stop a 2022 blue Chevrolet Silverado traveling 83 miles per hour in a 65 zone, but police say the driver sped off southbound, at times exceeding 100 miles per hour. Authorities say the driver and passenger were seen throwing a substance from the truck during the chase. Investigators later recovered suspected methamphetamine from inside the vehicle, and another substance that struck a trooper’s windshield tested positive for meth. The chase continued into Gibson County, where troopers and the Gibson County Sheriff's Office used stop sticks to deflate two tires. A trooper then performed a PIT maneuver, sending the truck into the median. One suspect was arrested immediately, and a second was taken into custody after a brief standoff. Police identified the suspects as 27-year-old Geonovan M. Bailey and 25-year-old Tiona E. Monie Sullivan, both of Evansville. They face preliminary charges including resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, and obstruction of justice. No injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
