The search for a missing woman with dementia in Posey County has come to a tragic end. Monday night, Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for 89-year-old Lola Davis. A few hours later, they cancelled that alert after she was found by police in Owensboro. Daviess County Coroner Jeff Jones says officers found her dead inside a vehicle. State Police say it was her neighbor’s car, who was unaware the vehicle was gone. Local law enforcement, several fire departments, and search and rescue teams spent the entire day and night on Monday trying to find her. The family says Davis walked out of her house between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM on Monday morning. This was around the area of Middle Mount Vernon and Ford Road in Mount Vernon. Authorities on scene used drones in the air and K-9s on the ground to search throughout the rough terrain. Mounted patrols from the Evansville Police Department were also on the ground to search for her.
