
Mount Vernon Wildcats Football VS Gibson Southern 09-05-25
The Mount Vernon Wildcats ran into one of the state’s top-ranked teams Friday night, as Gibson Southern flexed its dominance in a 42–0 win at Mount Vernon.
The Titans wasted no time, scoring four times in the opening quarter. Quarterback Zach Foster connected with Noah Keister for touchdown passes of 9 and 10 yards, and the defense added two pick-sixes — Jake Mazier returned one interception 32 yards, and Lloyd Sellers added another from 15 yards out. By the end of the first quarter, Gibson Southern led 28–0.
Just before halftime, Foster scored on a 1-yard keeper to make it 35–0. In the third quarter, he found Keister again for a 10-yard touchdown, Keister’s third of the night, to cap the scoring at 42–0.
Gibson Southern finished with 312 total yards on 47 plays. Foster threw for 8-of-14 passing and three scores, while Eli Foster added 99 rushing yards. Keister led all receivers with six catches for 62 yards and three touchdowns.
For Mount Vernon, offense was hard to come by. The Wildcats totaled 155 yards on 43 plays. Bryson Regan broke off a 53-yard run late to finish with 58 yards rushing, while Shane Krieger had 12 carries for 12 yards. Quarterback Ryder Snodgrass went 9-of-18 passing for 40 yards with two interceptions. Brady Schickel caught three passes for 20 yards, and Nash Hostetter added three for eight.
