Mount Vernon Wildcats Football VS Heritage Hills 10-03-25
The Mount Vernon Wildcats ran into one of the state’s premier programs Friday night, falling 69–7 to the Heritage Hills Patriots in Lincoln City. The Patriots seized control early, forcing a turnover deep in Wildcat territory and turning it into points. Heritage Hills quarterback Jett Goldsberry guided the offense with precision, tossing multiple touchdown passes — including strikes to Peyton Gray and Tyler Ruxer — as the Patriots raced to a 28–0 first-quarter lead.
Mount Vernon found its lone highlight early in the second quarter when quarterback Ryder Snodgrass connected with Logan Clowers on a stunning 80-yard touchdown pass, cutting the Heritage Hills lead to 35–7. But the Patriots continued their offensive onslaught behind Goldsberry’s arm and a strong ground game featuring Dalton Pledger and Karsen Pund, who both found the end zone before halftime. Heritage Hills carried a 56–7 advantage into the break and added a late touchdown run from Asa Palmer in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
Though the night belonged to Heritage Hills, Coach Fisher’s Wildcats kept fighting through adversity and showed resilience in the face of one of Indiana’s best. The Wildcats came away relatively healthy and now turn their focus to next week’s trip to Washington. With key players like Snodgrass, Clowers, and Brady Schickel continuing to lead by example, Mount Vernon will look to regroup, sharpen execution, and build momentum heading into the Battle of Posey County against North Posey and the upcoming sectional tournament.
