North Posey Vikings Football VS Heritage Hills 10-10-25

The North Posey Vikings ran into a tough challenge Friday night at home, falling 56–0 to a strong Heritage Hills squad. The loss drops North Posey to 6–2 on the season, but the Vikings remain in good shape heading into the final week of the regular season and the upcoming sectional tournament. Despite the outcome, North Posey continued to show determination and effort throughout the night, battling through adversity against one of the state’s highest-ranked Class 4A teams.

Quarterback Carter Schickel carried much of the offensive load for North Posey, completing 28 of 41 passes for 166 yards against heavy defensive pressure. The Vikings relied on short and mid-range passes to move the ball, with Dylan Murphy leading early before leaving with an injury after four catches for 60 yards. Remi Johnson added five receptions for 34 yards, Brody Fehn caught six for 32, and Camden Clowers hauled in four for 27. Davin Sullivan added a short completion as the Vikings worked to sustain drives through the air.

While the offense struggled to find the end zone, North Posey showed discipline and composure, committing just two penalties for 11 yards all night. The defense faced a relentless rushing attack from Heritage Hills but continued to play hard into the fourth quarter. Younger players like Lane Smith and several underclassmen saw valuable late-game reps, gaining experience that will benefit the team as the postseason approaches.

The Vikings now turn their attention to next week’s matchup against Mount Vernon in the annual Posey County Cup. It’s a rivalry game that offers North Posey a chance to bounce back and regain momentum heading into sectional play. Health will be a key factor, as the Vikings hope to have players like Murphy, Bret Buecher, and Cole Kissel ready to go. With a week to reset and refocus, the Vikings aim to finish the regular season strong and make some noise in the playoffs.
