North Posey Vikings Football VS North Knox 09-05-25
North Posey Falls in Heartbreaker at North Knox, 25–24
The North Posey Vikings came up just short Friday night in Bicknell, falling to North Knox 25–24 in a game filled with momentum swings, clock controversies, and a dramatic finish.
Both teams struck early, trading touchdowns in the opening quarter. North Posey found the end zone on its first two possessions to build a 14–6 lead after one. Ethan Ashby later added a 25-yard field goal, but North Knox answered with a late score to cut the deficit to 17–12 at halftime.
A key moment came just before the break, when officials ruled the clock had expired following an incomplete pass. The decision erased a potential Viking field goal try—points that would prove crucial in the end.
North Posey extended its lead in the third quarter when Brett Beeker powered in for a touchdown, making it 24–12. From there, however, the Vikings’ offense stalled. North Knox tightened defensively, and North Posey’s drives ended in punts and turnovers on downs.
The Warriors seized momentum in the fourth quarter, putting together back-to-back scoring drives. A made PAT gave them their first lead of the night at 25–24.
The closing moments were filled with drama. A North Knox penalty stopped the clock, forcing a punt. On the return, Brody Fain was horse-collar tackled, setting the Vikings up in Warrior territory with 25 seconds left. A key completion to Fain moved the chains, but with no timeouts remaining, North Posey couldn’t stop the clock in time to set up a game-winning field goal attempt.
