North Posey Vikings Football VS Southridge 08-22-25

The North Posey Vikings opened their 2025 season with a dramatic win, edging Southridge 28-27 in a thriller at Joe Jingle Ball Field.

Southridge racked up 376 total yards of offense and mounted a late comeback, but the Vikings’ defense came up big in the final moments. With just over two minutes left, Raider quarterback Justin Leathers scored to pull within one, but North Posey stuffed the two-point try at the goal line to preserve the victory.

Vikings’ Offensive Highlights

  • QB Ricardo Schickel: 14-for-24, 168 yards, 1 TD (24-yard strike to Dylan Murphy).

  • RB Brett Beaker: Breakout performance with 12 carries for 122 yards, plus strong kick returns.

  • RB Dylan Murphy: 7 carries, 13 yards, but 3 rushing TDs as the go-to goal-line back.

  • WR Brody Fain: 2 catches, 87 yards, including an interception on defense.

  • WR Remy Johnson: Team-high 7 receptions for 46 yards.

  • Vikings’ total offense: 329 yards (161 rushing, 168 passing).

  • K Ethan Ashby: Perfect 4-for-4 on PATs.

Defensive Standouts

  • Dylan Murphy again led the way with 12 tackles.

  • Landon Crawford and Zeke Roosevelt each added 7 tackles.

  • Brody Fain grabbed the team’s first interception of the year.

  • The Vikings kept their composure with only 5 penalties for 35 yards, compared to 11 flags for Southridge.
