North Posey Vikings Football VS Sullivan in Sectionals 10-31-25
The North Posey Vikings closed out a memorable 7–4 season Friday night in Sullivan, one that showcased the growth and resilience of a young but determined team. Though the sectional matchup ended in a 53–7 loss, the Vikings battled from start to finish, never losing their focus or heart. This group, built on teamwork and steady improvement, leaves the field this year with pride in what they accomplished and optimism for what’s ahead.
Quarterback Carter Schickel led the charge offensively, throwing for 242 yards on 21 completions and connecting with Camden Clowers for North Posey’s lone touchdown. Brody Fehn had a standout night, pulling in eight receptions for 110 yards, while Dylan Murphy added five catches of his own. Late in the game, Joey Hisch gave the Vikings a lift with 52 yards on five carries during the final drive, helping North Posey finish strong. Although four interceptions—including one returned for a touchdown—proved costly, the Vikings’ passing game showed flashes of its explosive potential.
On the other side, Sullivan’s record-breaking performance was led by running back Clark French, who rushed for 255 yards and four touchdowns, setting multiple school records in the process. The Golden Arrows finished with 586 total yards of offense—334 on the ground and 252 through the air—showing why they’ve been one of the most productive offenses in southern Indiana. Yet even against that firepower, North Posey’s defense continued to play with determination, led by players like Bret Buecher, Hank Lilly, Lane Smith, and Vince Weatherholt, who gave everything they had until the final whistle.
The Vikings’ season, however, is defined far more by its accomplishments than by its ending. North Posey’s seven wins came through discipline, chemistry, and the leadership of players such as Remi Johnson, Cameron Fisher, and Evan Becker, who will return next season ready to take the next step. The lessons learned from tough matchups against teams like Sullivan will serve this group well, especially as many of these players—now seasoned sophomores and juniors—step into key roles in 2026.
