North Posey Vikings Football VS Tell City 09-12-25

The North Posey Vikings put together a strong all-around performance Friday night, defeating Tell City 38-21 in Poseyville. The Vikings wasted little time getting on the board, as quarterback Carter Schickel connected with Dylan Murphy for a nine-yard touchdown to open the scoring. Later in the first quarter, Schickel struck again—this time hitting Brody Fehn for a 22-yard score to make it 14-0. Tell City answered in the second quarter behind the hard running of Brandon Casebolt, who scored twice to tie the game 14-14, but North Posey reclaimed momentum just before halftime with a 28-yard field goal by Ethan Ashby, giving them a 17-14 edge at the break.

The Vikings came out of halftime firing, with Schickel once again finding Murphy down the sideline for a 38-yard touchdown to extend the lead. Later in the third quarter, another long drive ended in a 13-yard strike from Schickel to Murphy, his third touchdown of the night, stretching the advantage to 31-14. Tell City’s Casebolt wasn’t finished, powering in from 15 yards out late in the fourth to bring the Marksmen within 31-21. But North Posey slammed the door on any comeback hopes when Brett Beaker broke free for a 47-yard touchdown run to seal the 38-21 victory.

Statistically, North Posey showed great balance with 401 yards of total offense—214 through the air and 187 on the ground. Schickel finished 16-of-24 for 214 yards and four touchdowns, with Murphy as his top target, catching seven passes for 125 yards and three scores. Beaker carried the load on the ground with 186 rushing yards and the late clinching touchdown. Defensively, Murphy added 14 tackles to his monster night, while Landon Crawford chipped in 10. For Tell City, Casebolt carried 22 times for 170 yards and all three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings improved to 3-1 overall and stayed unbeaten in PAC Small School Division play.
