Katy Cecile Lang
Katy Cecile Lang, age 50, of Mt. Vernon, passed away March 7, 2026, at IU Health Methodist Hospital with her family by her side. She was born January 28, 1976, in Evansville to Woody and Mary Theresa McFadin.
Katy grew up on her family farm and was active in Posey County 4-H, showing sheep and dairy calves. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1994 and later earned her degree from the University of Southern Indiana. Katy served as Nursery School Director at Zion Preschool, bookkeeper for Lang Farms, and office manager at Jacob’s Village.
She loved cooking, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Katy was known for her caring heart, strong faith, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Woody McFadin; her grandparents; and her father-in-law, William Lang.
Katy is survived by her husband, Tom Lang; her daughters, Hannah Lang, Kelsey Lang, and Shelby Lang; her mother, Mary Theresa McFadin; her sister, Carrie Staib; her brother, Matthew McFadin; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 until 7:00 at Schneider Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, and Saturday from 11:00 until service time at Zion-Lippe United Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Saturday afternoon at the church for Katy Cecile Lang.
