Tonight, Mt. Vernon Girls Basketball plays at Southridge. The JV game is set for 5:00 PM and the Varsity game follows at 6:30 PM. You can listen to the Varsity game on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Wildcats Girls Basketball team is 7-11 overall.

North Posey Girls Basketball is also in action this evening as they have a road contest at Tecumseh. Tonight is a Varsity only game at 6:00 PM. You can hear the game on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Vikings are 9-7.

 

Last night in local college sports, Evansville Men’s Basketball lost at home vs Murray State, 79-69. The Purple Aces have lost 8-straight games as they are 4-13 on the season and 0-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Murray State has won 10-straight games as their record is 14-3 and 6-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Leading UE in scoring was AJ Casey as he had a career-high 24 points in the loss. Evansville Men’s Basketball plays at Indiana State on Saturday at Noon.

Indiana Men’s Basketball won at Maryland, 84-66. The Hoosiers led 36-31 at halftime and then pulled away in the second half as they outscored Maryland 48-35. Lamar Wilkerson led IU in scoring with 24 points. The Hoosiers improve to 12-3 and 3-1 in the BIG 10, as they have won 4-straight games. IU returns home on Saturday to take on #10 Nebraska at 11:00 AM.

#5 Purdue used a big first half to get past Washington at home, 81-73. The Boilermakers led 45-28 at halftime. Braden Smith led the way with 23 points and 7 assists. Trey Kaufman-Renn also had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Purdue moves to 14-1 overall with their 6th-straight win and 4-0 in the Big 10. They are home again on Saturday vs Penn State.

The Kentucky Wildcats got beat at home by Missouri, 73-68. The Cats have lost back-to-back games as they are 9-6 on the year and 0-2 in the SEC. UK is home on Saturday night as they welcome Mississippi State.

 

Coming up this evening in local college sports, both USI Women’s and Men’s Basketball have a home game with Southeast Missouri State. The Women’s game is first at 5:00 PM and the Men’s game is at 7:30 PM. USI Women’s Basketball is 9-4 and 3-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Screaming Eagles Men’s team is 3-11 and 0-4 in the OVC as they have lost 6-straight games.

 

In the NBA tonight, the Indiana Pacers journey to Charlotte for a battle with the Hornets at 6:00 PM. The Pacers have lost 13-straight games, which is the longest losing streak in franchise history. Indiana is 6-31.
