Last night, North Posey Boys Basketball lost at home to Memorial, 68-40. The Vikings are now 2-8 on the season. They are off from game action now for a bit as their next game isn’t until Friday, January 16th at home vs Tecumseh.
Mt. Vernon Girls Basketball fell in their game at South Spencer, 66-14. The Wildcats are now 7-11 overall. Mt. Vernon Girls Basketball plays again tomorrow evening at Southridge.
Mesker Park Zoo officials say they had record breaking attendance numbers in 2025. According to zoo officials, the zoo welcomed approximately 229,278 guests in 2025. Officials say attendance growth was driven in part by the launch of Wild Summer Lights, a new evening lantern festival that ran from mid-August through the first weekend in October. They say Wild Summer Lights sold 50,000 tickets and drew strong crowds during traditionally slower late-summer and early-fall months. Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is open seven days a week, 365 days per year, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Tonight, in local college sports, Evansville Men’s Basketball plays at home as they battle Murray State at Ford Center at 7:00 PM. The Purple Aces look to end a 7-game losing streak as they are 4-12 on the year and 0-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Racers come into town having won 9-straight games. They sit at 13-3 and 5-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Indiana Men’s Basketball is on the road this evening at Maryland at 5:30 PM. The Hoosiers have won their last 3 games and are 11-3 on the season and 2-1 in the Big 10.
The Kentucky Wildcats have a home game vs Missouri at 6:00 PM. The Cats had their 4-game winning streak ended on Saturday in a loss at Alabama. They look to start a new winning streak tonight as they are 9-5 overall and 0-1 in the SEC.
#5 Purdue welcomes Washington to Makey Arena tonight at 7:30 PM. The Boilermakers have won 5 consecutive games and are 13-1 and 3-0 in the Big 10.
From the NBA last night, the Indiana Pacers couldn’t end their miserable losing streak as they lost at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 120-116. The Pacers led by 9 points after the third quarter but were outscored 36-23 in the fourth quarter. Pascal Siakam scored 22 points in a losing effort and Jay Huff added 20 points. Indiana’s losing streak has reached a franchise record 13-straight games and they are 6-31 on the year. The Pacers play at the Charlotte Hornets tomorrow evening.
