MSD of North Posey posted on Facebook that applications are now being accepted for several coaching opportunities at North Posey High School for the 2023-2024 school year. Pet owners in the Evansville area who would like to get their furry friends microchipped are invited to attend an upcoming free clinic. Evansville Animal Care & Control is partnering up with the Vanderburgh Humane Society to offer free microchipping. The free clinic is scheduled to happen on Friday, March 3, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vanderburgh Humane Society. Ahead of the free microchip clinic, VHS will also host a low-cost pet vaccine clinic on Saturday, Feb. 25. The VHS is located at 400 Millner Industrial Dr. in Evansville.

 

An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting that happened in Evansville back in early January. Jail records show 28-year-old William Cross was booked on charges of attempted murder and battery on Thursday afternoon. Cross was arrested in connection with a shooting that happened at some apartments on South Weinbach Avenue back on Jan. 7, according to police. Investigators say they were told that the shooter in that incident went by the alias "Blu," which is a name that Cross went by. They say he was also identified as the shooter in a lineup. Cross is being held on a $250,000 bond.

 

Officials at the Ford Center made a last-minute special announcement ahead of Friday night's WWE Smackdown event. On Thursday, the Ford Center announced a special guest to the event. Ford Center says Ronda Rousey will be at WWE Friday Night Smackdown, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The Thursday announcement says tickets are still available for the event too, starting at $20. You can find tickets at the Ford Center Ticket Office, or online via Ticketmaster. 

 

Sports:

- Evansville Baseball starts a 3-game series at home against Eastern Michigan at 3:00 PM. 

- USI Baseball gets a 3-game series underway at home vs Bellarmine at 3:00 PM.

- Evansville Softball plays host to St. Thomas at 5:30 PM.

- USI Softball takes on Samford at 4:00 PM. That game is being played in Birmingham, Alabama.
