Indiana communities will continue receiving state roadway funding during Governor Mike Braun’s Gas Tax Holiday. The State Board of Finance approved the latest round of reimbursements Tuesday, covering the period from August 1st through August 31st. According to a news release, more than 102-point-9 million dollars will be distributed among three state roadway funds. Of that amount, more than 19-point-one million dollars will go directly to cities, towns and counties. The approval marks the fourth reimbursement since the Gas Tax Holiday began. The board also approved the annual transfer of the first 70 million dollars in gasoline excise tax revenue to the State Highway Road Construction and Improvement Fund. That transfer is based on fuel-tax revenue collected in July and typically appears as an adjustment in local roadway funding distributions in August. However, officials say the Gas Tax Holiday delayed July’s revenue, meaning the adjustment is showing up later than usual this year.
