Evansville residents will soon have a chance to clear their yards of fallen leaves. The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility, in partnership with Republic Services, will begin its annual Fall Leaf Collection Program on Monday, October 26th. According to EWSU, eligible city residents can put out an unlimited number of bags of leaves from October 26th through December 11th. Leaves must be placed in biodegradable plastic or paper bags, or inside containers. Bags should be manageable in size and organized at the curb next to the residential trash cart. Residents should have their leaves out by 6:00 AM on their regular trash collection day, but officials say not to put them out several days in advance. Leaves that aren’t properly bagged or don’t meet the program’s requirements will not be collected. The service is available only to Evansville city residents who pay for trash service through their monthly water bill. Apartment complexes, mobile home communities, businesses, commercial customers and residents living outside city limits are not eligible.
