News:

This morning at the courthouse in Mt. Vernon there was a meeting about an error with mail-in ballots. In a release from the Posey County Clerk’s Office, they said it was brought to the attention of the Election Board that there was an inadvertent error effecting a maximum of 107 mail-in ballots that were mailed without the bi-partisan initials on the back of the ballots. All the voters potentially effected have been identified and are being contacted. The Clerk’s Office says it is their goal that no voter is penalized due to this human error. They have been in consultation with the Indiana Election Division and steps are being taken to allow all of the voters potentially affected to perfect their ballots prior to the 6:00 PM Election Day deadline. Any official replacement ballots that are requested by the voter will replace their previous ballot.

The University of Southern Indiana says it's launching a pilot program to expand beer sales at the Screaming Eagles Arena. A Thursday announcement from USI says that through the program, beer sales will be offered in public areas of the Screaming Eagles Arena on the USI campus for Men's and Women's Basketball games. Previously, alcohol was only available for purchase to select small groups of people in box suites and in the Varsity Club Room. USI says the decision is a move aimed at enhancing the fan experience at games. The sale of beer will begin at the home opening weekend Division I games on Friday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Screaming Eagle Arena. USI Director of Athletics Jon Mark Hall says the first couple of games will be a pilot for beer sales, but the hope is they can continue with it and even expand on in the future. During the pilot, USI says offerings will include Bud Light, Michelob Ultra and Busch Light in cans.
