Tonight at 5:30 PM a special meeting will be held by The Posey County Area Plan Commission at the Mt. Vernon High School Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting is to hold a public hearing as The Posey County Area Plan Commission will consider a petition by the Posey Solar LLC that requests a final Development Plan Approval to develop a Solar Energy Conversion System.
After more than 50 years, Indiana University and Purdue University will split IUPUI - their joint venture in Indianapolis - into two separate academic institutions. The announcement was made simultaneously on Friday at meetings of the IU and Purdue boards of trustees. It's the first step in what is expected to be a two-year process. Details of the split will be worked through in time for the realignment to be completed by the fall of the 2024 semester. IU will take control of the majority of the existening campus, but Purdue will maintain a presence.

- Tonight Mt. Vernon Boys Tennis travels to Pike Central at 5:30 PM
- Mt. Vernon Football is receiving votes in the Preseason Coaches Poll for Class 3A. The Wildcats open up their season on Friday at Heritage Hills at 7:00 PM
