Posey County Radio News

News:

The Posey County Area Plan Commission voted Monday night at a meeting to approve the plan for a new Tenaska solar farm. The vote was five to three in support of the plan moving forward. It is expected to bring 291 jobs for construction and 13 full-time jobs. Officials say now, they just have to get permits from DNR, and construction can start by mid-2023. Many residents have voiced their concern and a group of residents filed a lawsuit against the Posey County Area Plan Commission, Posey County Board of Commissioners, and Posey Solar, LLC. The group claims they didn't act in the best interest of residents when voting on a solar ordinance that would allow the project to move forward. The suit is still pending. Officials anticipate the project will add around $40 million to their tax revenue annually.
