Another schedule change has been announced for Week 2 of High School Football. Tonight’s Mt. Vernon at South Spencer game has been postponed until tomorrow night at 7:00 PM due to the excessive heat warning in effect. You will be able to hear the game tomorrow evening on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com. Chris Cook and Allen Buck will have the broadcast.
The North Posey Football game at Princeton is still on for tonight with kickoff at 8:00 PM. Catch the action on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com. Jordan Fisher and Chris Morlan will have you covered on the radio. The Vikings are looking to improve to 2-0.
SIAC Football games tonight include Vincennes at Reitz at 7:30 PM and Jasper travels to Harrison for a 7:30 PM kickoff. Games at 8:00 PM in the SIAC includes Bosse at Central, North at Memorial, and Mater Dei at Castle.
City officials announced the CK Newsome Center has re-opened today as a cooling center while extreme heat continues to pound Evansville. It was closed to the public a few days ago due to issues with the HVAC system. Officials say many of the issues with the system have been fixed. They have implemented temporary repairs to the HVAC system, while seeking a long-term solution. The center is open today from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM according to Deputy Mayor Steve Schaefer.
The 48th Frog Follies get underway at the Vanderburgh 4-H Center today. The classic cars that are expected to rumble into the Tri-State this weekend are known as hot rods. The event is scheduled to run today through Sunday at the Vanderburgh 4-H Center. Organizers estimate nearly 3,000 street rods will be there, along with food and live music. Admission is $7 per person and those that are 12 years and younger get in for free.
Holiday World's Happy Halloween Weekend will feature a new drone show. The drones will light up the night sky every Saturday from September 23rd to October 28th. The show will feature 400 drones. Halloween in the sky will begin at 7:45 p.m. and is included in guest admission. Season passes for 2024 are now on sale.

- The St. Louis Cardinals (56-72) start a 3-game series in Philadelphia at 6:05 PM.
- The Chicago Cubs (67-60) continue play in Pittsburgh against the Pirates at 6:05 PM. The Cubs are playing for a 3rd-straight win.
- The Cincinnati Reds (67-62) look to bounce back in Arizona this evening against the Diamondbacks at 8:40 PM.
- The Tennessee Titans play their final preseason game of the year at home against the New England Patriots at 7:15 PM. The Titans are 1-1 so far in the preseason.
