Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball is off to a 3-0 start after they hammered Eldorado at home last night, 66-22. The Wildcats’ next game is a week from tonight on December 8th at Central.

North Posey Girls Basketball won for the second consecutive evening as they earned a 40-32 win at Harrison. The Vikings get over the 500 mark as they are now 3-2. North Posey Girls Basketball plays again on Tuesday at home against Southridge.  

In High School Wrestling last night, North Posey lost to Boonville, 58-20.

 

Indiana University has announced their new Football Head Coach and it’s Curt Cignetti. Cignetti makes his way to IU from James Madison where they are coming off an 11-1 year. He was named the Sun Belt Conference’s Coach of the Year Thursday morning. He’s coached at JMU since 2019, guiding the school’s transition to Division I. Prior to that, Cignetti served as the head coach at Indiana University Pennsylvania from 2011-16. The announcement comes just four days after the university announced it was parting ways with former head coach Tom Allen after seven seasons.

 

The Indiana Pacers fell in Miami last night to the Heat, 142-132. The Pacers had a three-point lead going into the fourth quarter, but got outscored 45-32 in the final quarter. Tyrese Haliburton had 44 points and 10 assists in the loss for Indiana. The Pacers have now lost back-to-back games to slip to 9-8 on the year.

A REMINDER FROM THE TOWN OF POSEYVILLE. THE LAST DAY FOR LEAF PICKUP WILL BE THURSDAY DECEMBER 7TH. ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE THEIR LEAFS PICKED UP ARE ASKED TO PUT THE LEAFS BY THE CURB, BUT NOT IN THE STREET.

 

CHRISTMAS IN NEW HARMONY TAKES PLACE THIS WEEKEND STARTING WITH THE TREE LIGHTING AT THE NEW HARMONY INN. EVENTS CONTINUE ON SATURDAY WITH BREAKFAST WITH SANTA AT THE HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 8-10, THE CHRISTMAS PARADE AT 10:30, VISITS WITH SANTA FROM 11:00 TO 3PM AND SEVERAL FREE CONCERTS AT THE THRALLS OPERA HOUSE. Don Mattingly was back in the Tri-State tonight to host the 7th annual ‘Find a Way’ Charity event. The event featured country music singer-songwriters Jameson Rodgers, Dallas Davidson and Lee Thomas Miller. Over the last eight years, Mattingly Charities has raised $850 thousand dollars. In that time they’ve also partnered with multiple organizations to help under-served youth in the areas of education, social development, and athletics.
