The identities of two people who died in a house fire near Wadesville have now been released.  The Posey County Coroner's Office says 71-year-old Edith Hurt and 74-year-old Kenneth Hurt were killed in the fire on Diamond Island Road Friday night. Coroner Bill Denning says the victims were brother and sister.  Emergency crews were called to the home shortly before 10 p.m last Friday. Three people were inside the residence at the time. The third person was transported to a hospital. Investigators have still not determined the cause of the fire. The Indiana State Fire Marshal and local authorities continue to investigate.

Governor Mike Braun has extended Indiana's suspension of the state Gas Usage Tax and Gas Excise Tax, a move he says will help keep fuel prices affordable for Hoosiers.  Under Indiana's energy emergency statute, the tax holiday can now remain in effect for up to 120 days without legislative approval. State officials estimate the suspension saves motorists about 62 cents per gallon at the pump.  The tax pause is expected to cost the state about 140 million dollars per month. However, the Indiana Department of Transportation says it has sufficient reserves to cover the lost revenue without affecting current or planned road projects.  The extension is scheduled to expire in July, with the possibility of one additional extension into August. Any further extensions would require action by the Indiana General Assembly.
