News:

A major new development is taking shape near the University of Southern Indiana. Construction is now in the early phase for the $130 million Old Farm Reserve project, located on University Parkway just north of USI. The site was sold this past winter to Parkway Improvements LLC, and plans call for a large mixed-use residential and retail development. The project will include 163 homes, a 240-unit apartment complex, a hotel, a shopping center, and additional retail space. Officials say the goal is to have the residential lots completed by the end of this year, while the apartment complex is expected to be finished by late summer of 2028.

Posey County 911 Dispatch is reminding residents to avoid calling emergency lines for non-emergency matters. Officials say calls involving VIN inspections, parking complaints, or general information requests can place an unnecessary burden on dispatchers and public safety resources. According to dispatch officials, every non-emergency call has the potential to delay responses to serious situations such as structure fires, medical emergencies, or violent crimes in progress. Residents needing non-emergency assistance are asked to call the Posey County Dispatch non-emergency line at 812-838-1320.
