The Indiana Department of Transportation says a road closure is planned for State Road 165 in Posey County. Starting today, crews will begin a road closure for State Road 165 near Poseyville. This closure will occur between State Road 66 to State Road 68. This road closure will allow for a chip and seal road maintenance project. Work is expected to take two weeks to complete, depending on the weather. INDOT says the official detour for this project is State Road 68 to State Road 69 to State Road 66. Local traffic will have access during this project.
Drivers in Mount Vernon should also prepare for a road closure beginning later this week. City officials have announced that the west end of Water Street, starting at Parke Street, will be closed beginning this Friday. The closure is needed so crews can safely carry out a sewer repair project in the area. During the construction period, traffic will be restricted and detours will be clearly marked. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and use alternate routes whenever possible. For more information or to ask questions, you can contact the city office at 812-838-3396.
