The North Posey Vikings Football team saw their season end one win shy of a Class 2A State Championship as the Vikings lost to the Fort Wayne Luers 40-3 on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Vikings season ends with a 13-2 record and as Class 2A State Runer-Up’s. After the game, North Posey’s Jackson Graff was announced as the recipient of the Blake Ress Mental Attitude Award for Class 2A Football which was presented by the Indianapolis Colts.

Coming up this evening on Posey County Radio, there will be a final North Posey Football Coaches Show with Jordan Fisher and Head Coach Waylon Schenk. The show will be broadcast live at 5:30 PM from the Wheelhouse and can be heard on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com.

 

The Town of Poseyville has announced that the annual Poseyville Christmas Tree lighting will be on Monday, December 4th at the Poseyville Community Center. It will start at 5:00 PM.

 

Posey County Emergency Management Agency is now accepting resumes for the position of Administrative Assistant. This position will work full time Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, but would be on call for qualifying emergencies. Please submit all resumes via mail or in person to the Posey County EMA Director at 305 Mill Street Mount Vernon, IN 47620 or by email to carrie.thompson@poseycountyin.gov no later than Monday, December 4th, 2023.

 

Tonight, on Posey County Radio, it’s the Mt. Vernon Basketball Coaches Show. The show will be broadcast live at 6:00 PM from United Fidelity Bank in Mt. Vernon on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com. Hear from Wildcats Head Coach Joe Newcomb as Mt. Vernon is off to a 2-0 start after wins over Vincennes Rivet and North Central (Farmersburg). They are home against Eldorado on Thursday at 6:30 PM.

 

Sports from Sunday, we start with Men’s College Basketball…and the Indiana Hoosiers earned a win over Stanford, 89-76. Kel’el Ware had 28 points for IU as the Hoosiers improve to 5-1 on the year.

The Louisville Cardinals clipped New Mexico State in overtime, 90-84. The Cardinals are now 4-3.

From College Women’s Basketball on Sunday…Evansville won a wild game at Chicago State in triple overtime, 103-102. The Purple Aces picked up their first win of the season to improve to 1-4. The leading scorer for Evansville was Kynidi Mason Striverson with 27 points.

USI Women’s Basketball fell big at Purdue, 95-57. Vanessa Shafford poured in 14 points to pace the Screaming Eagles. USI Women’s Basketball now 3-2 on the season.

Week 12 of the NFL regular season yesterday saw the Colts pick up their third-straight win as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, 27-20. Gardner Minshew was 24-41 passing for 251 yards and Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 15 times for 91 yards and 2 touchdowns. Indy is 6-5 and will play at the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Tennessee Titans earned a 17-10 win at home over the Carolina Panthers to run their record to 4-7.

Tonight, the Chicago Bears play at the Minnesota Vikings at 7:15 PM. Chicago is 3-8 and Minnesota is 6-5.
