The University of Evansville’s Cross Country and Track and Field Director, Brooks LeCompte, has been placed on administrative leave. UE’s Chief Communications Officer, Noah Alatza, said allegations have been made, but no specific allegations were given. Alatza says an internal investigation is under way.

 

Coming up this weekend is the Posey County 4-H Livestock Tagging Day. It will be held at the Posey County Fairgrounds in the Livestock Barns on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. This is for beef, meat, goats, and sheep.

 

Also, this Saturday, there is the Posey County Fairgrounds Craft Show from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. It will be located at 111 Harmony Township Road in New Harmony. It is a 5 dollar entry fee per-car.

From local high school sports on Wednesday night…Mt. Vernon Softball took care of Central at home, 11-8.

North Posey Softball hammered Princeton on the road, 15-1.

North Posey Baseball picked up a 9-8 victory at home against Harrison.

 

Coming up this evening in local high school sports…North Posey Baseball plays at Southridge at 5:30 PM.

Mt. Vernon Baseball plays host to Heritage Hills at 6:00 PM. You can hear that game on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com.

Mt. Vernon Softball is also home tonight at 5:00 PM…as they take on Bosse.

 

From Major League Baseball on Wednesday…the St. Louis Cardinals failed to complete the 3-game sweep of the Athletics in Oakland as the Redbirds fell 6-3. The Cardinals slip to 9-10 on the season and will enjoy today off, before starting a 3-game series back in St. Louis against the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow night.

The Chicago Cubs picked up a 5-3 victory out west in the dessert against the Arizona D-Backs. Chicago took 2-of-3 in the series and now has a record of 11-7. The Cubs return home this evening to face the Miami Marlins at 6:40 PM.

The Cincinnati Reds got swept out of Seattle as the Mariners won yesterday, 5-1. Cincy is 9-9 and will be off today. The Reds return home to square off against the Los Angeles Angels Friday evening.
