North Posey Football posted on Facebook that they will be having their ring ceremony this Thursday morning. It will take place at 8:00 AM in the high school auditorium. All parents and supporters are invited to attend.

 

Mt. Vernon Baseball earned an 11-0 win in 5 innings at home over Vincennes Rivet last night. The Wildcats improve to 6-6 on the season. They play again tonight at Princeton at 5:30 PM.

North Posey Baseball cruised past Evansville Christian on the road, 16-0 in 5 innings. Vikings Baseball is home against Gibson Southern this evening at 7:00 PM. You will be able to hear the game on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com.

Mt. Vernon Softball got beat by Carmi last night, 5-0. The Wildcats journey to Gibson Southern this evening at 5:30 PM.

North Posey Softball fell to Heritage Hills, 7-2. The Vikings welcome Vincennes tonight at 5:00 PM.

 

The Town of Cynthiana is applying for $700,000 in grant funding from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. The grant money is being requested to work on improvements in the town's water distribution system, including new pipes, valves, hydrants and updates to the town's water tower. As part of the request, a survey has been created in which the collected information will be included with the grant request. The survey includes eight questions in which they would like for the citizens to fill out. Most of the questions are yes and no questions. Indiana State Police are participating in the National DEA Drug Take Back Day. That will take place this coming Saturday in Evansville. This is the 26th nationwide prescription take back initiative. The goal is to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through the means of proper disposal of the unused drugs. The Indiana State Police invite the public to bring any unused drugs to their post at 19411 Highway 41 North on Saturday between the hours of 10AM and 2PM.

Major League Baseball from last night…the St. Louis Cardinals got a walk-off two-run homer from Nolan Gorman in the 9th inning to beat the Arizona D-Back in the series opener at Busch Stadium, 5-3. It snaps a 4-game losing streak for the Redbirds as they improve to 10-13. The two teams play game two of their three-game set in St. Louis tonight at 6:45 PM.

The Cincinnati Reds got blanked by the Philadelphia Phillies at home, 7-0. The Reds fall to 12-10 on the year. The two teams continue their series in Cincy tonight at 5:40 PM.

The Chicago Cubs enjoyed last night off as they will start a series this evening at home against the Houston Astros at 6:40 PM. The Cubs have a record of 13-9.

 

Coming up tonight in the NBA Playoffs, the Indiana Pacers play Game 2 of their First Round Best of Seven Series in Milwaukee against the Bucks at 7:30 PM. The Bucks won Game 1 on Sunday, 109-94.
