An Evansville man is facing multiple felony charges following an undercover investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in Posey County. The Posey County Prosecutor’s Office says 51-year-old Jason Johnston was arrested after investigators made multiple undercover purchases of methamphetamine from his Posey County home. According to court records, the investigation involved the Posey County Drug Task Force, the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force and the DEA. Officials say that between March and August, Johnston allegedly sold more than 300 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover police informant during multiple transactions. On Friday, August 7th, officers executed a search warrant at Johnston’s residence. Authorities say they seized more than 350 grams of methamphetamine, U.S. currency and firearms. Johnston’s wife and juvenile daughter were also at the home when the search warrant was executed. Johnston is charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance. The Posey County Prosecutor’s Office says the charges carry a sentencing range of 10 to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 under Indiana law. Johnston is being held without bond in the Posey County Jail.

Work to prepare for the change will begin early this week, with the lane shift expected to take place later in the week.
