For those traveling throughout Evansville this week, there are lots of traffic changes that are taking effect along the Lloyd Expressway. Starting today, INDOT crews are shutting down part of Red Bank Road just south of the Lloyd. During the closure, drivers will not be able to turn off the Expressway onto Red Bank Road. Motorists will instead need to detour using Pearl Drive before or after the intersection. That closure is expected to last about two weeks. Further west, eastbound exit ramps to University Parkway are also closing today. Drivers heading toward Evansville near USI will not be able to exit to the university or the parkway and will need to find an alternate route. Officials say westbound ramps will remain open. That project is expected to continue for about 30 days. And on the east side, drivers can expect short traffic stoppages beginning today at Burkhardt Road and Cross Pointe Boulevard. INDOT crews will be installing new stoplights and cables in the area.
