Mt. Vernon Police say they arrested two people on drug charges. Late Tuesday night at around 11:45 PM, officers went to 324 East 10th Street in Mt. Vernon to serve an active misdemeanor warrant on 44-year-old Andrew Howe. Officers say when they approached the front door, they could see Howe asleep on the couch. Officers knocked on the door and were met at the door by a female identified as 44-year-old Lisa Webster. They woke Mr. Howe up and placed him under arrest for the existing warrant. While officers were arresting Mr. Howe, they noticed pills lying all over the residence, with white powder residue on the table that was suspected marijuana. A consented search of the residence revealed drug pipes, marijuana grinders, additional pills, aluminum foil with methamphetamine on it, as well as a jar containing additional methamphetamine and marijuana. Both Howe and Webster were arrested and lodged in the Posey County Jail.

Police in Mt. Vernon say they arrested two people on meth charges after an incident Sunday. Officers say they pulled over a vehicle on East 4th Street after spotting 39-year-old Amanda Fairchild, who is known not to have a valid license, behind the wheel. As officers were pulling the car over, they say they saw a white object get tossed out of the passenger-side window where 35-year-old Justin Springer was sitting. MVPD says the officers did find marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside, along with meth all over the inside of the car, baggies, and a snorting straw with meth residue on it. Springer and Fairchild were both arrested on felony meth charges and booked into the Posey County Jail.
