The United Way of Posey County wants to remind you about their half pot raffle taking place on December 31st. The present jackpot is around $1200 and rising. The Posey County EMS is going to be having a Car Seat and Flu Vaccine Clinic coming up this Thursday at the Marrs Fire Station on 5460 Ford Road. The Clinic will take place in the drive thru bay from 2-4PM. No appointments are required, but if you would like more information, call 812-781-0330.

This Saturday at the Poseyville community center will be the Poseyville Kiwanis Club, Breakfast with Santa event. This will be taking place from 8:00-11:00 AM at 60 North Church Street. Ticket prices at the door will be $9.00 for kids 4 to 9 years old and $12 for ages 10 and up. Kids 4 and under will get in for free. The Event will include a pancake breakfast along with a visit from Santa's reindeer, crafts, pictures with Santa and other various activities. Again this event is taking place from 8-11 on Saturday brought to you by the Poseyville Kiwanis Club.

The Posey County 911 Regional Dispatch office is now accepting applications and resumes for two Part Time Dispatchers positions. Applicants need to have flexible availability for weekends and swing shifts, as well as be able to dedicate at least 32 hours a week during 12 weeks of training. They say this part-time position could lead to a full-time position if one were to become available. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates must be able to type forty words per minute, handle many tasks, and have excellent communication skills. Applicants must be able to pass a background check. If you would like an application, you can obtain one at the Dispatch Office 305 Mill Street, Mt. Vernon, IN Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or can be e-mailed to 911dispatch@poseycountyin.gov. Applications are being be accepted until 8:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27th.

In high school sports last night, the North Posey Vikings Boys took on Evansville Central at home. Both JV and Varsity won their games. The Vikings varsity team had to fight hard to prevent a comeback from the Bears. The Vikings led at the half 34 – 26 before the Bears came out much more aggressive from the locker room. The Vikings were led in scoring by a hot Austin Schmitt with 23 points. Other scoring included Jackson Graff with 16, Kylan Wathen with 13, Colin Schipp with 9, Liam Stone with 4 and Ethan Mansfield with 4. The Vikings play again on Friday night against Evansville Mater Dei whos last victory put them at 2-1 on the season with a 44-41 win over Reitz.

The Mount Vernon Girls Basketball teams hosted Carmi at home last night. The JV team fell to Carmi with a close 31-30 loss. The Varsity was also overcome by Carmi. Final score 41-65 in favor of the Bulldogs.

In high school sports tonight, North Posey is hosting a dual meet with Mount Vernon and Memorial. That meet will start at 6:00. And the Mount Vernon Girls Wrestling team will be at Bosse at 7:00.
