MSD of North Posey posted on Facebook that they are looking for an Instructional Assistant for North Elementary School in the Special Education classroom setting. For a complete job posting and to apply, visit www.northposey.k12.in.us/jobs.

 

North Posey Football posted on Facebook that this Wednesday night there will be an informational meeting held in the high school auditorium at 6:00 PM for next year. All 8th-11th graders who are interested in playing next season and their parents/family are invited. Discussion topics will include off-season program and expectations, summer schedule, and the upcoming fundraiser auction.

 

Mt. Vernon Police say a traffic stop led to a drug dealing arrest. It happened shortly before 1 a.m. Friday. Police say they pulled over a SUV for speeding and other violations. They say the driver was 36-year-old Gilbert Eaton. Police say a sheriff’s deputy helped with the stop, and his K9 alerted him to narcotics. Officers say during a search of the SUV, they found a handgun, digital scales with residue, a large bag with meth, along with various other pills. Eaton was arrested and taken to the Posey County Jail.

He is charged with:

- Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony)

- Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony)

- Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 Felony)

- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Domestic Batterer (A Misdemeanor)

 

Coming up this evening on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com…it’s another edition of the Mt. Vernon Basketball Coaches Show. It will be broadcasted live from 6:00-6:30 PM at United Fidelity Bank in Mt. Vernon. Allen Buck will host the show and chat with Wildcats Basketball Head Coach, Joe Newcomb. The Wildcats lost on Tuesday at Memorial, 68-49 and on Friday at home against Boonville, 51-39. They are 8-12 on the season and will play at Mater Dei on Tuesday. Mt. Vernon also takes on Tecumseh at home Friday and Princeton on Saturday.

North Posey Boys Basketball split their weekend as the Vikings lost at Southridge, 56-50 and beat Perry Central at home on Saturday, 69-49. North Posey is 11-9 on the year and will travel to Tell City this Friday night.

 

Sports:

- Evansville Men's Basketball (5-22, 1-15) lost at home on Sunday against Missouri State, 66-60. Antoine Smith Jr. had 16 points and Marvin Coleman II chimed in with 14 points. 

- Evansville Women's Basketball (10-13, 5-9) fell at Murray State yesterday, 80-60. 

- Super Bowl 57 was played last night out west in Arizona...and the Kansas City Chiefs win a shootout over the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35.
