Posey County Council on Aging is in search of a driver. They are looking to add a hardworking and compassionate person to their team of drive staff. They take great pride in the service they provide to their clients. This position is part-time with no nights, weekends, holidays, and can be flexible with your schedule. For more information you can stop by the Posey County Council of Aging office at 611 West 8th Street in Mt. Vernon or give them a call 812-838-4646. They are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

 

Harmonie State Park is having their Craft Fair this Saturday, October 1st from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. There will be more than 100 craft vendors, along with food trucks and concessions. The Fair will also have crafts for kids, live music, bounce houses, face painting, pony rides, and pioneer activities.

 

The 101st West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is set to kick off next Monday. If you are a Posey County organization that is going to have a booth at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, we want to hear from you! Email your information such as organization, booth number, and menu items. We will spread the word on 106.7 WMVI and 98.9 WPIW during the morning show next week. We are already on the back end of the High School Football regular season as Week 7 games are this Friday across the tri-state. Yesterday, the AP polls were updated, and several tri-state teams are ranked. Starting in Class 5A, Castle is 11th. Class 4A Reitz is 8th and Memorial is 11th. Class 3A features Gibson Southern 2nd, Southridge 11th, and Vincennes 16th. Moving on to Class 2A where Mater Dei is 4th and North Posey is 16th. Finishing up with Class 1A, Tecumseh is 7th.

This Friday, North Posey Football travels to Forest Park for their game and Mt. Vernon is at Gibson Southern.

 

Local Sports From Last Night:

- Mt. Vernon Boys Tennis won their first round sectional match against Central, 4-1. They will play Reitz in the 2nd round tonight. MV is hosting the sectional as well. 

- North Posey Volleyball took care of Boonville in straight-sets on the road. Vikings improve to 17-5.

- North Posey Girls Soccer lost at White River Valley, 3-0. NP falls to 3-11 on the season. 

- USI Men's Soccer got shutout at home against the University of Missouri-Kansas City, 2-0. The Screaming Eagles are 0-7-2 on the year.
