The three Indiana State students who died in the crash on State Road 46 near Riley, Indiana on Sunday have been identified. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office said that those who died were 18-year-old Christian Eubanks of Waukegan, Illinois, 19-year-old Jayden Musili of Fort Wayne, as well as 19-year-old Caleb VanHooser of Liberty Township Ohio. Both Eubanks and VanHooser were student athletes on the Indiana State Football team. Two passengers, both of which are on the Indiana State Football team as well, were able to be freed from the vehicle and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. They have been identified as 20-year-old Omarian Dixon of Lafayette and 19-year-old John Moore of Wheaton, Ill. According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the crash around 1:34 a.m. on State Road 46 at Main Street in Riley. Results of the initial investigation concluded the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree before catching on fire.

 

Former Vice President and Indiana Governor Mike Pence will be in Evansville later this week. He is coming as a special guest at the annual banquet of Right to Life of Southwest Indiana. The banquet is at 7:00 Thursday night at the Old National Events Plaza.

- Mt. Vernon Volleyball won at Harrison in straight sets (25-16, 25-23, 25-16). Arlissa Sharber and Mallory Nurrenbern each had 8 kills. MV is 3-2 on the young season. 

- Mt. Vernon Boys Soccer topped Pike Central at home, 5-1. The Wildcats are off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 1997. 

- North Posey Girls Soccer dropped a match to Gibson Southern, 8-0. Vikings are 0-2 on the year. 

- North Posey Boys Soccer was shutout against Gibson Southern, 3-0. NP is 0-2 on the season.

- North Posey Boys Tennis with a clean sweep at Boonville, 5-0.
