Thanks to some recent rainfall, the burn ban that has been in place for well over a week in Posey County has been lifted. As of Monday afternoon, the burn ban is no longer active for Posey County.

 

Coming up this Sunday, November 6th is the St. Phillips Holiday Craft Fair and Food Drive. It will take play from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Sunday at the St. Philip School Gym, which is located at 3420 Saint Phillip Road. This year in addition to supporting local small businesses and St. Phillip School, they want to help support a cause. As an incentive to participate, all shoppers who donate a non-perishable food item will receive $1 off their admission fee. Donations will be taken to the Tri-State Food Bank. Admission on Sunday is $3, or just $2 with a donation of non-perishable food. The top 10 most needed items are peanut butter, soup, canned fruit, beans, rice, tuna, cereal, fruit juice, pasta, and pasta sauce. Vendor sales will include seasonal items, things to eat, items for your home and kitchen, jewelry and religious items, bath and body, clothing and accessories, yarn crafted, gifts, and miscellaneous items.

 

It's been a fun season so far for North Posey Football as the 9-2 Vikings will play for a Class 2A Sectional 40 Championship this Friday night at Mater Dei. Vikings fans, you can vote for sophomore Jed Galvin who is up for the Week 11 News 25 Home Team Friday MVP Award. In North Posey’s win at Paoli last Friday, Galvin tied the school record with 5 rushing touchdowns and gained 224 yards on the ground. He also collected 89 receiving yards and caught a touchdown pass. The 6 total touchdowns set a school record for most in a single game. Local Sports From Last Night:

- The Indiana Pacers could not win their 3rd-straight game last night as they fell in Brooklyn to the Nets, 116-109. Chris Duarte had 30 points for the Pacers as they fall to 3-5 on the year. Indiana returns home to play the Miami Heat on Friday.
