North Posey Vikings VS Tell City 09-11-26

The North Posey Vikings stayed perfect Friday night with an impressive road victory, handing previously unbeaten Tell City its first loss of the season, 52-29.

The story of the night was senior running back Cade Mauck, who turned in what may prove to be a record-setting performance. Mauck carried the ball 25 times for an unofficial 330 yards and three touchdowns, scoring on runs of 67, 10 and four yards. His 330 yards could set the North Posey single-game rushing record once the final statistics are confirmed.

Quarterback Carter Schickel added another big night through the air, completing 13 of 17 passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns.

Three of those touchdown passes went to Remi Johnson, who finished with four receptions for 39 yards. One of Johnson's scores came on a spectacular leaping catch in the back corner of the end zone over two Tell City defenders.

Brody Fehn led the Vikings with 60 receiving yards on three catches, while Camden Clowers caught two passes for 29 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown in the second half. Bret Buecher added four receptions for 32 yards.

Kicker Ethan Ashby remained perfect on extra points, going 7-for-7 while also connecting on a 35-yard field goal.

North Posey piled up 502 yards of total offense, including 342 yards on the ground and 160 through the air.

Tell City also found success running the football. Brandon Casebolt carried 20 times for an unofficial 204 yards and a touchdown, while Lucas Beier added 160 yards on 21 carries. The Marksmen finished with 458 yards of offense, 381 of those coming on the ground.

North Posey led 10-7 after the opening quarter before taking control in the second, building a 24-7 halftime advantage. Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter, leaving the Vikings ahead 38-21. North Posey then added another 14 points in the fourth to put the game away.

Defensively, Lane Young once again led the Vikings with 10 tackles. Braden Elpers recorded nine, Matthew Will had eight and Zeke Roosevelt finished with six. Brody Fehn came away with an interception, while the Vikings also recovered a Tell City fumble.

The 52-29 victory improves North Posey to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in PAC Small School Division play.

The Vikings return home next Friday to face Pike Central, beginning a three-game conference stretch that also includes a road trip
