The University of Evansville celebrated a major addition to its athletic facilities this past Friday, holding a dedication ceremony for the new Begle Family Sports Performance Center. The project was made possible by a donation of more than $800,000 from alumni Curt and Kelly Begle. The upgraded facility features new equipment and expanded space, including higher ceilings designed to enhance training opportunities. University officials say the center will support all 300 student-athletes across the school’s 17 NCAA Division One programs, providing dedicated areas for training, recovery, and overall development. Both donors have deep ties to the university. Kelly Begle was a cheerleader and graduated in 2000, while Curt Begle played on the 1999 basketball team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Curt Begle says he understands firsthand the value of quality athletic facilities and hopes the new center will help drive success for UE athletes for years to come.
