The North Posey Vikings Football team is headed to State! They beat Southmont in the Semi-State at home on Saturday, 37-7. The Vikings are now 13-1 on the season and will play in the Class 2A State Finals this Saturday at 10:00 AM against the Fort Wayne Luers. Fort Wayne has a record of 11-3. Saturday’s game will be at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.

Coming up tonight here on Posey County Radio, it’s the North Posey Football Coaches Show at 5:30 PM. Jordan Fisher and Vikings Head Coach Waylon Schenk will broadcast the show live from the Wheelhouse. You can hear the show on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com.

 

The 89th Annual Hadi Shrine Circus at Ford Center in Evansville is this week and once again Posey County Shriners are making available free Circus Exchange Tickets for all Posey County Elementary School Students. These are student-only tickets and will be available only while supplies last. In Poseyville, they will be available at the Poseyville Police Department on Tuesday from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Then on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon, they will be available at the Black Township Fire Department from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Adult advance discount admission tickets will also be available for purchase at the mentioned locations. Discount tickets will not be available after Wednesday. The Hadi Shine Circus starts with a show at 5:00 PM Thursday, then three shows on Friday and Saturday at 9:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 7:00 PM. There will be a final show on Sunday at 3:00 PM.

 

Checking on sports from Sunday, the Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Basketball team got beat by fifth ranked UCONN, 77-57. The game was played at Madison Square Garden in New York apart of the Empire Classic. The Hoosiers are now 3-1 on the year.

The 23rd ranked Illinois Fighting Illini beat up on Southern University, 88-60 to improve to 4-1 and the Louisville Cardinals fell 81-80 against 19th ranked Texas. The Cards are now 2-2 on the season.

Evansville Women’s Basketball fell hard at Michigan State, 105-49. The Lady Aces drop to 0-4 on the young season.

 

Sunday was Week 11 of the regular season in the NFL and the Colts had this week off. Indy is 5-5 and will be back in action on Sunday at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Colts will be looking for a 3rd-straight win.

The Chicago Bears let one slip away in Detroit as they lost to the Lions, 31-26. The Bears had a 26-14 lead with 4:20 left but could not hang on. Chicago is now 3-8.

Down in Jacksonville, the Tennessee Titans got drilled by the Jaguars, 34-14. Titans are now 3-7.

The Green Bay Packers were able to pull out a victory at home over the Los Angeles Chargers, 23-20 to improve to 4-6.

 

From the NBA, the Indiana Pacers had a rough evening at the office as they lost at home to the Orlando Magic, 128-116. The Pacers tumble to 7-5.
