An Indiana DNR Officer is charged with making an unlawful proposition. Records show 55-year-old Eric Stamps’ case was filed in Posey County. The arrest affidavit from Indiana State Police shows that in December, Stamps used his department issued cell phone while texting a woman. Troopers say their conversation included financial issues for the woman, and Stamps offered $400 for sex. Troopers say Stamps apologized in texts the next day, saying it was disrespectful. They say he was interviewed on January 8th and admitted to sending the texts. Court records show a warrant was issued for Stamps’ arrest on February 20th, but was then recalled. His charge is a misdemeanor. Stamps is due in court on April 25th. DNR Officials say Stamps is currently assigned administrative duties until the completion of the criminal case and internal investigation.
