Youth First is expanding mental health services for students in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties thanks to new grant funding. The organization has received a total of $25,000 in Community Good Grants from two local community foundations. The Vanderburgh Community Foundation awarded $10,000, while the Warrick County Community Foundation provided $15,000. Youth First says the funding will support its school-based student assistance and family prevention programs in 45 partner schools, including 32 schools in Vanderburgh County and 13 in Warrick County. The nonprofit places trained mental health professionals directly in schools, where they work with students to build positive relationships, develop life skills, strengthen resilience and encourage healthy decision-making. Officials say the grants will help ensure students and families continue to have access to mental health resources and prevention programs that support emotional well-being and long-term success. Youth First currently partners with more than 130 schools across 14 Indiana counties and says the funding will help advance its mission of creating stronger, healthier communities throughout southwestern Indiana.
