If you are headed over to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, be sure to check out a few of the Posey County organizations that have booths set up. Right to Life of Posey County is Booth 74. They are located on the north side of Franklin Street near the corner of St. Joe Avenue. They have Ski Pie, Tiger Cookies, Apple Cider, and a Right to Life Baby Photo Contest.

St. Phillips Church is Booth 92, and they are located on the south side of Franklin Street, close to the corner of 12th Avenue near the main stage. They have burgoo in gallons, half gallons, and bowls. St. Phillips Church Booth also has Bosco Sticks, Fried Cheese Curds, Fried Pickle Chips, and Cheesy West Side Pork Chop Bits.

 Also, make sure you check out the St. Wendell Church Booth 88. It is located on the south side of Franklin Street between St. Joe and 12th Avenue. There you can get Dried Dumplings, Walking Cookie Dough, Famous Bread Pudding, and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.

 

There are just two weeks left in the High School Football regular season, as Week 8 is coming up this Friday night. Yesterday, the newest AP Polls were released. In Class 5A, both North and Castle are ranked 12th. Class 4A has Reitz at 7th, both Memorial and Jasper are ranked 14th. Moving on to Class 3A where Gibson Southern is 2nd, Southridge 11th, and Vincennes is 16th. Class 2A features Mater Dei 2nd, Perry Central 14th, and North Posey 17th. Finally in Class 1A, Tecumseh is 6th.

This Friday night is the battle of Posey County as the 4-3 Mt. Vernon Wildcats play at the 5-2 North Posey Vikings. North Posey has announced a tailgate before the game at 5:00 PM and Vikings fans are encouraged to bring a soup, side, or dessert to share.

 

Evansville residents are being invited to attend several upcoming events allowing them to speak with officials about their utility accounts. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says he's hosting six "Access to Service Fair" events throughout the upcoming winter season, allowing residents to talk one-on-one with customer service representatives about their CenterPoint Energy and Evansville Water and Sewer Utility accounts. The city says that representatives from local assistance agencies and township trustee offices will also be present. Events will be held in the CK Newsome Center. The first one is scheduled for Thursday, November 10th from 5:00-7:00 PM. The city says that the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System will also offer free bus rides for all passengers on event days.

 

The LST 325 is headed back to its dock in downtown Evansville. The historic ship has been out on its annual tour. Last week, it was docked on the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio. Now, it’s making its way home from there. The stop in Cincinnati was just one of several the LST made on its nearly month-long trip. It also stopped in cities in Kentucky and West Virginia. It’s expected to be back in Evansville later today.

 

Local Sports From Last Night:

- Mt. Vernon Volleyball lost in straight-sets at home vs Tecumseh (26-24, 25-11, 25-14). The Wildcats are now 10-8 on the year. 

- Mt. Vernon Girls Soccer won their 1st Round Sectional Match vs Bosse, 6-0. Maty Burnett scored (4) goals, giving her (36) goals on the season. That is the most in a single-season in school history. 

- North Posey Boys Tennis #1 Singles Max Renshaw defeated Mt. Vernon Boys Tennis #1 Singles Rylan Paul in the Indiviual Sectional. Renshaw will play again today at 4:30 PM out at North High School.

- North Posey Boys Soccer saw their season come to an end as they lost to Wood Memorial 3-0 in the 1st Round of Sectionals. 

- USI Men's Soccer fell 2-0 at Bellarmine. The Screaming Eagles are now 1-8-2 on the year.
